The plot reset trick is a way to “choose” where a new villager’s house is going to go! It can take a while, and it can be frustrating. But the results are always worth it!
REMEMBER: Never load an existing character when plot resetting! Always make a new character!!!

I loaded an existing character:(
Okay, I’m sorry for this, and you probably mentioned it and I didn’t catch it, but what happens if I’m playing the game normally, with my normal character and I happen to come across a spot where a villager has planned to move in. Do I save and quit, or reset. Then am I supposed to load up with the disposable character? And will the plot be moved? I’m sorry, I just don’t understand this. Keep in mind that when I first found the plot, I was using a villager that I normally play the game with.
The best part: 3:35
this is so much easier cuz they dont place houses on paths so you only need to do it once
i rlly wish i had known this before i had four villagers move in in a square right behind my house. I had my two dreamies in my town as well. I ended up resetting my save file ;-;
Why do you have to make a new character and reset the game?
Question, if I remember correctly villagers can't move in on top of designs. So couldn't you layout designs in your town and leave a space big enough for a villagers house, so they can only move into that one spot? This is just a thought I've had for a while.
So if you're not expecting a villager to move in and you find a plot for a random villager, you're just screwed? Is there a way to tell if and when a random villager will move in so we can load a new character to plot reset?
I mean technically this is just a short way. You can plot reset with enough TT and keep yours same character.
RIP FLURRY IS STUCK INFRONT OF THE MAYORS OFFICE KILL ME NOW. ;(
Does this work in Welcome amiibo because it’s didn’t for me. I tried it three times some either I’m doing something wrong or they got ride of it in this version
A villager just moved in front of my town hall I'm sad ;^;
Thank you so much for this! I always thought, for some weird reason, that you could only choose where they live by covering ur WHOLE town w/ designs and leaving one free space open :/
Just had Tia set a plot down right in front of a bridge. Didn't know anyone was moving in until I loaded in my Mayor.
Yeet!!!! How’d you hack dis town?
Is this the Dewdrop town!
This video was super helpful. Was able to get all of my Villagers from amiibo cards to be in the spots I wanted. For anyone else using this method, here's a tip that isn't mentioned in the video. Patterns are your best friend here. Place patterns EVERYWHERE you don't want villagers to be. Trust me, they would rather be 2 feet from your house than right in a scenic spot. Villagers won't place their houses on top of patterns, which beats putting Public works projects in the stubborn spots.
Once again, great video. It helped out a lot.
Though annoyingly enough…. all of my old villagers decided to move into Main Street to all spite me…. Guess you can never permanently remove a problem!
Wth is wrong with that bunnys face in the beggining?????
This did not work!!
You can’t change the date without loading a previous character so how is this “trick” even possible
This is a way better strategy than mine: hit them with a net until they leave
Now we have patterns to prevent house spawning. Horay!
This is annoying i miss the old games when you knew places where your villages can live
This doesnt work anymore and yes i followed everything
How do I expect a move in?
Coco Justin Bieber And I, All Share A Birthday
i'm just gon ask
how did you get a villager to move in at the beach
fffffffff
im sure this works but I guess I broked it
now Bob is permanently 5 feet behind my house. U RGH
