As much as I love my tipi hot tent that I created in November 2015, it is too heavy to take into the backcountry, so this year, I created another hot tent for that purpose. In Part 3, I find some issues I have to resolve before installing the stove jack and flap, but finally get the stove jack in. After it’s all done I set the tent up outside in the snow to see if it’s ready for the next step, taking it out on a trip.
Please note, that I am not a professional tent maker and I just created this project from scratch on my own, to make a tent for my own use. Hope you check back for part 3, the final video. Happy Creating! For a more detailed account of this project, please see my blog post at https://wp.me/p6r4RK-46L

Hey Christina- what brand of stove is that? What are the dimensions of the stove?
Ok how much lolol
I think its a fabulous job i would buy one from you terrific little tent
Awesome vid. I’m not sure if it was mentioned during the video.
But how much time did you put in making this hot tent?
Great job i so need to get a sewing machine.
Is that fiberglass material that you used for the stove jack?
This is great Christina! Very inspiring! Thank you for sharing!
It is perfect! Thanks for sharing
So at the end of it all , what do you figure were your total costs to make that tent , as opposed to buying one.
One more thing , what is total weight.
I went back & found pt3, awesome job on the stove jack. Tent really looks Great ! Thank You for sharing your video, there`s a few more to check out. ATB
Not perfect? It’s about as perfect as I can imagine. Well done. I really enjoyed watching these. I take my hat off to you. Thanks for letting me watch
Mike
Fantastic job! Looking forward to watching your hot tent adventures.
Awesome! Cant wait to see your trip video!
Excellent, looking forward to seeing your stove and tent being used. Cheers! Rich
Looking forward to her maiden voyage. Merry Christmas my friend.
Hi Christina, very nice … We await… Have fun
Ha ha. I was going to suggest ties on the flap but someone beat me to it. I was just concerned that snow might settle on the rolled up flap making it heavier. Terrific job Christina. You should be rightly proud.
Well done you!! A fantastic job.
You did an excellent job. This has been a really fun video series.
Looks great! Well done!
Ok so how do I get one , can I find one at REI ?
Very nice! Looking forward to the maiden trip.
im inspired
Hi again. Maybe you should put some cloth ties at the top of the chimney flap. I don't think I would trust velcro in a strong wind.
Hello Christina. Did you sew a patch in the peak to keep the pole from wearing through.
You're amazing, great job on the tipi, I thought your painters pole idea is a really good one. I recently made my own hot tent, pretty much the same design, I used silicone coated polyester fabric instead of canvas and can relate to your empty bobbin ordeal. Like you, I used a welders blanket for a stove jack but what I did was coat the fiberglass with high heat silicone using a putty knife to really push it into the fabric, making it water proof. Thanks for sharing, I always like seeing peoples MYOG projects come to life, inspires me in my own projects.
Way to go, you did it, now off winter camping. : )
Nice job you’ve inspired me to build one thanks for the video.
