You need to at least twist the chains as a thief can easily hook the chains over his tow ball drive off and then dismantlethe unit at his leisure

What's the purpose of locking up the safety chains? If someone wants to steal the trailer, they would just have to hook their on chains on with a quick coupling and then drive off.
Probably one of the better locking systems out there and will probably slow down the best of thieves. Unfortunately, there has never been a lock that can't be picked and there-in lies the 'weak link'. But this is way above the average locking system.

Glad I found this video, I just bought 3 of the door lock pucks and one of these hitch locks wow I feel a lot better about the contents of my trailer than i did before these are nice 7 pin shielded locks not saying a lock picker couldnt pick it but they will have to work at it, most trailer thieves I would say are not the lock picking type anyways, but these are nice locks and I love this hitch set up
