Good video – well explained and easy to see what you are doing. I only would add that you may wish to clean / lubricate adjuster screws and put a layer of antiseize between the bearing and drum.
The Shoes and Spring systems are different for cars built in Japan and those built in the USA and Canada. You need to figure out what you have before buying new Shoe pads. RE-Install 4:38
Holy cow thank you for this.. Other videos were telling me to put the springs on in different order but this was Defintely the easiest by far.. My back thanks you
please, please every body, let's stop buying cars with drum brakes so manufacturer get rid of this stupid design and use disc brakes on all four wheels.
thanks for the response but 3 days after my post, a girl texting on her phone blew a red light and hit me at about 60 mph and TOTALED the car and I've got a brand new '16 now. Obviously no need to check anymore! One good thing came out of it, was way over on my lease miles so she helped me out there! Have a good one.
great video thanks !
Front shoe looks much thicker than the rear shoe. I thought the rear brakes were self adjusting by backing up and applying the brakes.

Only the Corolla XRS model came with rear disc brakes.
Damnit I hate drum brakes. Its always the cheap cars that still use them.
Are the shoes the same size on both sides? Meaning, front and back shoe… Some Toyotas/Hondas have smaller and bigger shoes in each side..
Thanks for the video, corolla 2006 brakes shoes are the same for corolla 2006 S, i meant it fit?
I have never seen this tool that screws to the spring that helps with the installation of that top spring. Pretty cool.
