Vintage Airstream Interior Build 🛠💪 Tiny Home Renovation
We’ve been renovating a 1979 airstream argosy since Feb ’18. The renovation began by totally detaching The Airstream shell from its frame.

Regarding the brackets that hold the 2×4’s to the Ceiling- is it just inserted into the slit you cut into the aluminum roof panel and then riveted to that?
It's coming along!!! You guys must be getting excited.
I’m loving this reno!!! Lookin good.
Great progress! I love your weight saving structures. I might use that method in my own project 🙂
Quite a project and you have made a lot of progress, looking good. I am wondering though, why such a large inverter (3000 watt) for a small trailer, what do you plan to power with it?
Schluter Kerdi waterproofing membranes may be helpful. Link to website: https://www.schluter.com/schluter-us/en_US/Membranes/Waterproofing-(KERDI)/Schluter%C2%AE-KERDI/p/KERDI
It's looking amazing. I usually watch the videos on my phone and don't get to comment much just wanted y'all to know I am enjoying watching the progress! So proud of y'all. <3

Where the wires cone down through ceiling, I hope your put some rubber or heavy tape over sharp metal. Great to see an Airstrem saved.
It’s getting more exciting with each episode!! Love it!!
I hope this isn't too late…. At 2:04 in the video you show where you've cut the sheet panels for the ties to the studs. You really need to drill the ends of those cuts! Aluminum will crack over time with vibration and stress and those sharp corners are the perfect spawning points for such cracks. Google why aircraft windows are rounded and the reason the first jet airliner (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/De_Havilland_Comet) was retired early to see why such unterminated (square) metal cuts are never allowed in aircraft. Obviously your trailer isn't a plane, but it will see similar amounts of stress over time bouncing down the road.
Ya'all are lucky to work in such nice weather. We had an early snowstorm last Thursday and expecting 20° high temp for Thanksgiving.
The Argosey is looking awesome! Cannot wait to see the interior come to life. You both can be so proud of all your hard work. You must be very thankful for your great friends and family to lend a hand. Happy Thanksgiving!
I saw a YouTube video about JAK meter it’s a flow meter that gages water level in your tank what do you think
i'm not sure but are you guys going to be using a murphy bed i think it might open space up
Awesome looking. Counter top looks great – I am sure that will be a very useful space. Living in Florida I would only use pressure treated wood.
It's really fun to see what's inside my AS!! It's in the shop right now getting it's yearly 'tune up'.
Not sure how you are going to do the shower but if you decide to tile StarrTile has lots of videos on building shower pans and showers.
Looking good!
You’re doing such a great job and the trailer is coming along nicely. I like what you’ve done to anchor the studs to the ceiling and floor. Excited to see what’s next!
I'm really enjoying watching you guys with this build out/reno. You two are definitely inspiring. But I have to point out something I thought was pretty darn funny in your video; just around the 9:05 mark, during your closing monologue, look at the overhead fan(?) reflected in the sunglasses on your hat. Totally looks like a second set of crazy cartoon eyes. LOL
Looking good! Love the countertop! Thank you for sharing your video
VERY cool!! Good for you guys. Enjoy following your progress 🙂
Hi guys, Good to see your progress. Comin along nicely. You should be back on road after Christmas…. C-Ya..
I just searched Google for “custom copper shower pans” and found several manufacturers.
Bravo!
Coming along nice guys! Kyle make sure you got a nice spot for your guitar. Mines under the bed in our rig. Sucks cause when the wife is sleeping I can’t get to it. Lol
Coming right along! Looks great!
You're going to have an almost BRAND NEW RV when you are done. Built better then most of the crap the industry usually puts out. Kudos to you guys. Proud of ya!
I made a tile shower pan it looked great but would not drain properly I found that you almost have to use a factory build pan if you want it to drain right.?
You guys are making terrific progress! Very interesting and many thanks for sharing!
