The Wood Shed was approached with a very exciting project by local businesswoman Elisabeth Samways – owner of Betty-Lou Vintage Styling and Events. Ms Samways had purchased a tired and weathered horse box with an ambition to convert it into a travelling 1920’s styled boutique gin bar, perfect for summer festivals and events. The Wood Shed seemed the fitting match to take on the project. Ms. Samways had stipulated a one-month completion target.
Recognising the idea’s potential and relishing the prospect of inspired collaboration, Daniel immediately set to work. Stripping the horse box back to a bare skeleton and rebuilding in entirely reclaimed material, the new shell presented the perfect canvas to be painted in a classic deep British green. Inside, bespoke cupboards, shelving units, worktops and fitted lamps were designed, fabricated and installed. The interior, now finished in a moody and sultry style, is reminiscent of the prohibition era and is balanced with welcoming, rich cream walls. Replete with crystal chandeliers and an original Tiffany lamp, the vessel once serving as a means for transporting animals is transformed and reborn; the shining new traveling gin bar now singing all the vintage charm of the Speakeasy period.
With a high level of consideration and careful planning applied to the brief, The Wood Shed surpassed Ms. Samways’ expectations, providing Betty Lou with the perfect platform for the new business venture to ascend from.
Specialising in working with locally sourced reclaimed materials, The Wood Shed is an innovative new business born from a passion for carpentry and recycling. With the help of the Prince’s Trust, The Wood Shed was founded in Brighton in 2015 by creative Brighton based entrepreneur Daniel James. In less than two years, by nourishing the fledgling business’ roots in building coffee tables and other small home ware, Daniel has seen the The Wood Shed’s design portfolio flourish; now facilitating the inception and building of large scale projects including home studios and shop interiors. Having worked with many businesses in the local area, including the popular and exciting escape room the Brighton Bewilder Box, The Wood Shed is fast gathering momentum and is now building a growing reputation across the UK.

Where are you located my brother?
I'm sure the best instruction is on stodoys website.
I built a new storage using Ryan's set of plans [Check Details Here⇒>https://t.co/deqGRYccYv ]. They were very resourceful, clear and detailed instructions with a list of materials that allows you to know what to use and what not to use. Thank you so much Ryan!
Great conversion , Im looking to convert a Horse Box into a mobile coffee and doughnut shop,
