You forgot to mention the things we need to look for when we buy a replacement. After struggling with my replacement I viewed 'How-To Identify & Replace a Sliding Glass Door Mortise Lock' Ok another trip to the store & success!
Do you know how to get the lock out when it falls into the door???
Excellent Video. One of the BEST I've seen. Nice cross-section visual aid. Short, quick and to the point. Well done.
thanks a lot called it a day like ya said and madam boss fired me wth
But how do you latch it? Where is that piece that holds the sticking out latch?
Great video! Short 2 second intro and straight to the point. Thanks for the help.
my lock fell down into the door, any suggestions?
Great tip. Thank you!
**GREAT VIDEO** Everything worked well, but when I purchased my replacement lock at Home Depot, they only had one brand and one part number (which did not work). I had to go to Lowes. They had one brand with TWO different part numbers. I would recommend you shadow the part on top of each other to ensure the same form. Thanks again! You saved me hundreds of dollars, you ROCK!
Thanks SO much for your time to help guys like me make this look easy like you!
Perfect video. Just what I needed. Was concerned about the how to get the old lock out. This solved my issue.
Wonderful! My lock just busted and now I can fix it. I was lost, but now am found! LOL
Sorry it took so long for us to get to this! If you could send us some pictures of your lock, we can maybe help you out. You can find us on facebook, or our email address/contact page is on our website.
Sara, I'm not exactly sure which kind of lock you're talking about–is the cylinder a euro-profile cylinder? (it won't let me include a link in this comment, but if you google 'euro profile cylinder' it'll show some images)
If you can find a picture (or take a picture) of your lock and message me on YouTube or on our facebook page, I'd be more than happy to help you as much as I can. The link for our facebook page is in the comments.
Do you know how I can replace a single-hook lock on a sliding door with a cylinder lock? Or if its possible? Need to change it for insurance purposes.
