There’s nothing better than a good cup of cowboy coffee. Here you’ll learn the trick to a great cup that’s cowboy approved!
Recipe: Fill a 3-quart graniteware or enamel coffee pot with water to the bottom of the spout. Place the pot over high heat and allow the water to warm. When the water has warmed, pour in ¾ cup coffee grounds. Let the water come to a good roiling boil. Reduce the heat to medium and let boil for 2 to 3 minutes. Be careful the water doesn’t boil over. Remove the pot from the heat and let sit for 1 to 2 minutes. Pour 1/2 to 3/4 cup of cold water down the spout to settle the grounds.
My large pot is about 2 gallons of water to 1 1/2 cups of coffee grounds. Once that has boiled, let it set and pour about a 1 – 1 1/2 cups of cold water down the spout.

I always love the last couple cups in the pot, when the coffee gets a little chewy.
Greetings Kent, I'm from India and your channel is absolutely amazing. Keep up the good work and I love old traditions and it's great. Give my regards to everyone.
My grandmother made coffee this way. Thanks.
it's just like arabic coffee without the extra seasoning, there has to be something to this boiling method
I remember when I had my first cowboy coffee!
black is the best way to make coffee, none of that stupid whipped cream or that 'mocheado'' shit
Thank the Lord there are still men like you in this country. I need me a cowboy!
I actually learned something. Coffee has been starting to irritate my esophagus and stomach and I wasn't sure what to do about it. I need my coffee! I had no idea there was a way to remove the acid. Im going down to the camping store and buy myself one of those enamel pots. Good morning coffee!
This may seem like a silly question, but after I pour in the cold water, how do I keep the coffee hot without redistributing the coffee grounds?
Wow, tried this way to brew coffee this morning in my brand new pot. That is after I seasoned it using your method.
Without a word of a lie, THE BEST coffee I have ever tasted. I like my coffee black and strong. Like you said, no acid burn and no grounds in my cup.
Great channel!!!!!
he makeing coffee all the old timers at country churches make egg coffee
Love the pic of the dog, waiting for the coffee to cool..

Richer flavor, smoother taste, man, cowboy coffee is the way to go! Thanks, KR.
Hi there Cowboy Kent, my 20 something year old enamel percolator coffee pot was stolen… looking to replace with a new or used one. What do you recommend for cooking over a fire and possibly on a propane stove. Can a percolator be used for cowboy coffee by removing the “guts” filter etc… please recommend what you would buy or look to buy. I really enjoy your videos and like the cowboy way of cooking. Thanks Mike
Doing it Old School.
When I try to boil coffee, it always boils over. How do you get that rolling boil without it boiling over?
The coffee grounds don't taste any different, just feel odd in the mouth. You might be missing out on some good nutrition. Still, it's nice to have a choice about eating the grounds or not.
F ya, gotta love this cats cat! This man speaks the truth.
Great! Just tried it! SMMMOOOTTTHHH!

I wondered why that camp fire coffee tasted so good. Always Thought it was psychological.
Looks good, might have to try this on my next camping trip, generally more of a tea drinker though, nothin like a good cup of tea with a few spruce buds out in the woods
You Sir, have just made me the happiest Gal in the world!
I was slowly hating coffee since my kuerig broke, so I made it exactly as you you said to, but with what I had on hand, just a regular cooking pot.
Turned out perfect! Tastes just like the way my kuerig would make it taste, and minus the HUGE sticker price tag those things come with! ❤️❤️❤️❤️
I put a link to this in the comments for someone else's video. They were telling folks to use the percolator. I couldn't stand it, so I shared your video. I hope you don't mind.
That is interesting way to make coffee. I want to try it
I love this man. Always great recipes.
